LOOKING GLASS CORVETTE
ASSOCIATION (LGCA) was founded in 1973 as a not-for-profit
Colorado corporation and is sponsored by Purifoy Chevrolet
of Fort Lupton, Colorado. We are a social club.
To date we have more than 200 member families in the club
who share the enjoyment of our Corvette hobby and other
common interests.
To join LGCA, you must own
a Corvette. You may not belong to any other
local Corvette club. You are required to attend
a business meeting, one monthly event and a second meeting
within a three-month period of time to become a member of
Looking Glass Corvette Association. Our meetings are
held on the first Tuesday of every month at the Clement
Community Center at 1580 Yarrow Street in Lakewood,
Colorado. Our meetings begin at 7:30 PM and usually
last until 9:00 PM. There are usually 110+ people in
attendance at our meetings!
The meeting is followed by
an opportunity to socialize with other members and to enjoy
refreshments in the Clement Center meeting room. There
are sign-up sheets on the side table in the meeting room for
all of the events and activities for the month(s) ahead.
All members and potential members are encouraged to sign up
to attend any or all of these events. Participants may
attend as individuals, couples, or with a friend – with or
without our Corvettes!
In addition to monthly
business meetings, monthly club events, car shows, parades,
autocross racing, open road racing, drag racing, overnight
tours, long-distance trips, and a variety of other
activities with other Corvette enthusiasts are scheduled
throughout the year. We are a family-oriented social
club and our objective is to have fun together and make new
friends. The Corvette is our common bond.
Reflections
is our monthly LGCA newsletter. E-flections is the
electronic version of Reflections and can be found on
our web site (www.lgcacorvette.org).
Reflections is included as part of the membership dues.
Club members are encouraged to submit articles, information,
photographs, etc. to the Reflections editor.
Since 1973, we have held
an event called “VETTES ON THE ROCKIES” (VOTR). What
began as a one-day cruise to Grand Lake, Colorado with eight
local cars has evolved into a four-day, multi-activity event
held for the past 18 years in Summit County Colorado.
In past years, there have been as many as 520 Corvettes from
38 states and several foreign countries in attendance.
Ours is the largest Corvette event held in the state.
With participation of the GM/Corvette design team, Mid
America Motorworks, and other major corporations, VOTR has
become one of the nation’s premier Corvette events.
VETTES ON THE ROCKIES is
the main focus of our club and our best Public Relations
“media”. Proceeds from registration, merchandise
sales, and sponsorships help defray the costs of the various
activities our club has throughout the year.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in this event by
co-chairing an activity, being on a committee, and/or
volunteering time and energy at the event in the area of
personal choice. Participation as a member volunteer
can be for two to four hours on a day(s) of your choice,
whether you have registered for the full four-day event,
Sunday only, or not at all.
Your help and
participation in this event is an incredible experience as
you meet fellow “Corvetters” from around the country who
have come to enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery and our
exciting event activities. The praise we receive from
our guests after the event is our is awesome! Be a
part of the excitement!!!
We look forward to you
joining Looking Glass and having fun with us at all of our
various activities.
